Cowgirls Don't Cry. They Build Really Big, Really Strong Walls Reinforced With Concrete And Rebar. And Gun Turrets. And Shoot Those Foolish Enough To Try And Scale The Walls.

for everyone

SheB challenged everyone to list their teachers from 1st through 12th grade.  This is going to be fun.  I can barely remember where I went to school each year, much less the teachers' names!

Here goes nothing!

Kindergarten -- Pretty sure we lived in Phoenix, AZ.  No friggin' clue what my teacher's name was or the name of the school.  Just remembered something else -- we had a tarantula as a class pet.

1st grade -- School was Miami Heights Elementary in Cincinnati.  Teacher?  No idea.

2nd grade -- Bracken Woods Elementary in Cincinnati.  Don't remember the teacher, but that's the first time I met my crush, Darren.

3rd grade -- Still Bracken Woods!  One of the handful of times we stayed at the same school for more than one year.  Don't remember the teacher here, either.

4th -- Westwood Elementary in Cincinnati.  Teacher???  Still no idea.

5th -- Kirby Elementary in Cincinnati.  Yeah, we moved around a lot.  Still no idea of the teacher's name.

6th -- Jackson Elementary in Dayton.  Or was it a junior high?  Can't remember.  I do remember that we were bussed across town due to desegregation.  That was the year I got to sit in class and watch the news (as part of our daily classwork) and learn that my dad had been in a bad accident and a teenage girl was killed as a result.  He spent time in jail for that one.  The teacher immediately pulled me out of class and tried to reassure me that it was probably someone else by the same name.  Nope, it was him and I knew it was.  No clue on the teacher.

7th -- Carlson (junior high?) in Dayton, OH.  Teacher?  Ya got me.  I switched to a local school (below), but I can't remember if it was in the middle of the 7th grade or after the year was out.

8th -- Huffman Elementary (K-8) in Dayton.  Okay, here is where I DO remember a teacher's name!!!  Mrs. McCallum (I think) was a good teacher.  I don't remember what she taught, only that she really seemed to care about the students.  I think my Social Studies teacher was a Mr. Posner, or something like that.

9th/10th -- Taylor High School in North Bend, OH.  We had a homeroom teacher, but I don't remember who that was.  Mr. Quatkemeyer (try saying that three times fast!) was my Algebra teacher both years.  He was also a football coach and I can't count the number of times I had to correct HIS stuff on the board!  But he was a nice guy.  Mr. Kegley was my French teacher both years.  Didn't like him much, but I think it was because I didn't like taking French.  Ms. Heath was the gym teacher.  She was cool, mainly because she had been friends with my mom when she went to Taylor.  Mr. Garrett was the English teacher.  Funny guy, did a great job with a dry subject.  There are other teachers I remember, but those are the highlights.  Wait -- can't forget Mr. Saylor who dyed his hair several times throughout the year and fell asleep at his desk.  Back in school with my crush, too!

11th/12th -- Cy-Fair HS in Cypress, TX.  I definitely remember many of the different classes I took (Government, Archery, Accounting, Office Administration, Marine Biology, Phys Ed, Geometry, etc) but I can't remember a single teacher's name.  Hm.

Alright, in my defense I am not a complete scatterbrain that can't remember jack.  We grew up with a lot of changes and dysfunction in our family and, while I enjoyed being at school (way easier than being at home), I had too many things going on inside my head to focus on the people around me.  I was in the 7th grade when my mom died, thus the fuzziness of what actually happened that year.  I was living with my grandparents during my 9th and 10th grade years.  Can you tell I had a stable home life during that period?  LOL!

Damn, SheB.  This was hard!

LMBO I LOVE your answers here. You took a 'name that teacher' quiz and didn't know any of your teachers! LOLOLOLOL

Just kidding! I went to 2 elementaries, 1 jr. high and 1 high school and I probably couldn't name as many teachers as you did!

I love your blog though! :)
